My tummy tuck experience has been interesting, and it's not over yet! Post-tummy tuck, I had a long, tedious recovery, and then my husband was stationed somewhere else (Army) so we moved 2 months post surgery. I became sedentary and had trouble getting back into my strict workout and diet plan that I had so passionately followed for two years. Sadly, I've gained 20lbs. The doctor told me if I gained any weight, it would not return to areas where I had lipo, because those fat cells had been removed. He was right! My ass is huge! It all went to my butt and thighs and my stomach is still flat as ever. I wasn't happy with my weight gain, and just as I got back to my diet and exercise, another shocker...I'M PREGNANT! We're excited for this blessing, but I'm nervous about how it will affect my tuck. My doctor feels confident that as tight as I was bound, my muscles should contract nicely after baby. We shall see.
Overall, I was and still am happy with the results of the tummy tuck and lipo. I still have days where I have weird sensations and my muscles feel sore. Also, the feeling is not completely back in my stomach, but I do have tingling sensations from time to time.

That photo was just 5 months after the surgery? Wow, you're looking good! Hearing about how things went just fine throughout your recovery is very pleasing. The new baby is, indeed, a blessing, but I can't blame you for worrying about your tuck after hearing the news. Good thing though, your surgery was done right that no complications of any sorts will arise during your child-bearing. Double congratulations!

ReplyDeleteHi, everyone! I'm 6 weeks post pregnancy, and my stomach looks wonderful! I had to have an unexpected c-section, but my doctor was able to cut along my TT incision. My pregnancy was fairly uncomplicated. My abdomen did not get as what is considered normal for a pregnancy and the last couple months I felt like I couldn't breathe, but in the end I delivered a healthy 6lb 13oz baby boy. During the pregnancy I gained 40 pounds and have already lost 25 pounds. Almost all of my weight gain was in my legs and butt. I'm very happy with how well my TT held up during the pregnancy. My stomach was almost completely flat again 10 days post-partum, except for swelling at the incision site. Now, I've just got to get this weight off my bottom half. I'm actually thinking about lipo on my inner and outer thighs. ;)

My wife would be really interested in reading your blog! She has really been struggling with getting off her "post-baby" weight and it's been very hard on her. I think she looks beautiful the way she is, but I can tell she is very self conscious about it. A lot has happened after you got the tummy tuck, huh? Well, there are responsibilities you'll have to go through even after a successful operation.
